About Laravel Academy

Laravel training taught by someone who builds it every day

Laravel Academy exists because generic courses don't teach people what they actually need to know on the job. So I decided to teach it myself — from real code, not slides.

Our story

Why Laravel Academy exists

Laravel Academy started in 2026, born out of my enthusiasm for the framework. I want to pass that enthusiasm on to new developers who are keen to get started with this genuinely brilliant framework — and to inspire developers who have been in the field longer, too. It is not only about learning syntax; I want to inspire people to build good things that actually hold up in practice.

I run in-person trainings in Almere and the Randstad, and alongside that I build online courses, provide consultancy to companies, and deliver in-house trainings for teams. My approach has never changed: teach from real, working code, not endless slides.

Today Laravel Academy is still small, and deliberately so. Every training is taught by me — no bench of freelance instructors, no curriculum passed from hand to hand, but focused on real-world practice.

What we believe

The principles behind every training

These shape every course, workshop, and consultancy engagement we take on.

Real code over slides

Every example comes from applications that actually run in production — not a simplified tutorial repo.

Small groups, direct access

You learn from and talk directly to the person teaching — no account managers or junior stand-ins.

Stay current, stay honest

Laravel changes fast. Curricula get updated the moment something we teach stops being the best practice.

The person behind it

Joram

Founder & lead trainer, Laravel Academy

I've been building production Laravel applications for over ten years — Laravel Academy is my way of sharing that knowledge, alongside working with clients and companies.

I started Laravel Academy to share my passion for Laravel with others. It's my way of contributing to the community and making sure developers don't just learn syntax, but also how to build real, working applications.

Every training, course, and consultancy engagement is run by me personally. When you work with Laravel Academy, you work with me.
