Who we are

Laravel Academy provides open-enrollment courses, in-house training, and consultancy around the Laravel framework. We are the data controller for the personal data processed through this website, our forms, and our training sessions.

What data we process

We only process data that you provide to us yourself, or that is technically required to make the website and our training sessions work.

Why we use this data

Every processing activity has a specific purpose and a legal basis under the GDPR.

How long we keep data

  • Inquiries that don't lead to an engagement: 12 months after the last contact.
  • Trainee and client data: 2 years after completion of the training or engagement.
  • Certificates and attendance records: 5 years, so we can reissue a certificate if needed.
  • Invoices and bookkeeping: 7 years, per statutory tax retention requirements.
  • Analytics logs: a maximum of 14 months, aggregated only after that.

Who we share data with

We never sell your data. We do use service providers who act as processors on our behalf, under a data processing agreement and, where possible, hosted within the EU.

  • Hosting and email providers for our website, applications, and correspondence.
  • Our bookkeeping and invoicing software for administration and billing.
  • The client in an in-house engagement, limited to attendance and certificates earned.
  • Venue partners, limited to name and dietary requirements for access and catering.

Transfers outside the EEA only take place under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

We place functional cookies that are necessary to make the site and the enrollment form work. We only place analytics and marketing cookies with your consent, which you can give or withdraw via the cookie banner. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

We store your choice for 12 months. More details are available in our cookie policy.

Your rights

You can submit a request to us at any time. We respond within 30 days and may ask for additional identification.

  • Access to the data we hold about you.
  • Correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure, insofar as we have no legal retention obligation.
  • Restriction of, or objection to, a processing activity.
  • Portability of your data in a commonly used file format.
  • Withdrawal of previously given consent.

Security

Our website and applications operate exclusively over HTTPS. Access to trainee and client data is limited to whoever needs it to deliver a training or engagement.

In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to those affected, we report it to the Dutch Data Protection Authority within 72 hours and inform the affected individuals.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy when our services or the law change. The current version is always available on this page, with the date of the last change at the top. In the event of significant changes, we'll inform active trainees and clients by email.

Not happy with how we handle your data? Please contact us first via hello@laravel-academy.com. You also always have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
